If you have already gotten multiple opinions and nobody knows what to do, I would recommend bringing your cat to an animal hospital.

I find it very surprising that they didn't know what to do. Are you sure of that? Perhaps you're mistaken. These are professionals trained in these things. Perhaps one at the most would be stuck.
