By the looks of it, this kitty is not exactly starving. I think another way should be found to get him off the laptop.
This is a classic. One of the best I have ever seen. Mum says 'keep your distance'; baby does as mum does, but only manages to look puzzled and unbelievably cute.
I just love this picture.

gizmo with his catnip infused mouse
OMG, what a lovely photo of your cat. He looks so peaceful and happy, all curled up asleep with his little catnip mouse. Just like a small child asleep with his teddy bear.

He was very playful this morning. Not bad for a 9 year old cat.
No, not bad at all!
Nice when they like their catnip, not all cats do.
Mine likes it for a while, a few minutes, and then loses interest; such a shame.
Also, not all cats are very playful, your Gizmo seems to be such a lovely happy kitty.

His eyes are half closed, he enjoys it or what; does he purr while lying there taking it all? My cat loves it as well, and obligingly starts to purr, which keeps me going, which keeps him purring.....

Yes he does purr.
He's loud when he purrs but not too loud. You can hear him when you sit next to him.

Sometimes at night time i will go and pat him to make sure he's ok.
